Important Considerations
Because your mouth begins to heal and change shape immediately after extractions, there are a few important things to know about immediate dentures:
- We can’t fully verify the fit until your teeth are removed, so some esthetic or structural compromisesmay be necessary
- Your gums and jawbone will shrink and changeduring the healing phase
- You’ll need periodic adjustments with temporary liners or tissue conditionersto maintain comfort and fit
Once healing is complete (typically 3–6 months), a permanent relineor new denturewill be needed
